సంక్షిప్త పరిచయం
నందమూరి తారక రామారావు – తెలుగు సినిమా చరిత్రలో ఒక యుగపురుషుడు. 1949లో 'మన దేశం'తో అరంగేట్రం చేసిన ఆయన, దాదాపు 350+ సినిమాలలో నటించి, తెలుగు సినిమాను అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయికి తీసుకువెళ్లారు. మాయాబజార్ (1957)లో శ్రీకృష్ణుని పాత్రతో, రాముడు-భీముడు, బొబ్బిలి యుద్ధం, దాన వీర శూర కర్ణ — ఇలా ఎన్నో అమృతసమ సినిమాలతో ఆయన తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకుల హృదయాలను గెలిచారు.
నటనా శైలి
NTRకు పౌరాణిక పాత్రలతో అమితమైన అనుబంధం. శ్రీరామ, శ్రీకృష్ణ, దుర్యోధనుడు, రావణుడు — హిందూ ఇతిహాస, పురాణాల్లోని దాదాపు ప్రతి ముఖ్య పాత్ర ఆయన ద్వారా జీవం పోసుకుంది. భారీ గాత్రం, రాజ గంభీరమైన నడక, పౌరాణిక డైలాగ్ డెలివరీ — ఇవన్నీ ఆయన ప్రత్యేకత.
రాజకీయ ప్రవేశం
1982లో తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీ (TDP) స్థాపించి, కేవలం 9 నెలల్లో అధికారంలోకి వచ్చారు — ఇది భారత రాజకీయ చరిత్రలో అరుదైన ఘట్టం. 1983, 1985, 1994 — మూడు సార్లు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా పనిచేసిన ఆయన, తెలుగు ప్రజల ఆత్మగౌరవం పునరుద్ధరణ నినాదంతో రాజకీయాన్ని పునర్నిర్వచించారు.
వారసత్వం
NTR కేవలం ఒక నటుడు, నాయకుడు కాదు — ఆయన ఒక ఉద్యమం. తెలుగు అస్తిత్వానికి, తెలుగుదనానికి ఒక శాశ్వత ప్రతీక. ఆయన వారసత్వాన్ని కుమారులు నందమూరి బాలకృష్ణ, హరికృష్ణ, NTR Jr. మనమడు జూనియర్ NTR సినిమా ఫీల్డ్లో కొనసాగిస్తున్నారు. 1996లో ఆయన నిష్క్రమణ తెలుగు ప్రజలకు తీరని లోటు.

Overview
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR Sr.) was a towering figure of Telugu cinema. Debuting in 1949 with Mana Desam, he went on to act in more than 300 films across nearly five decades, helping transform Telugu cinema into a globally recognized industry. His portrayals of mythological figures — Sri Rama, Sri Krishna, Duryodhana, Ravana, Karna — established a screen persona at once divine and theatrical that has yet to be matched.
Acting style
NTR's voice, regal bearing, and grand mythological dialogue delivery made him the definitive Telugu mythological hero. Maya Bazaar (1957), Daana Veera Soora Karna (1977), and Ramudu Bheemudu are widely regarded as career-defining performances.
Politics
In 1982 he founded the Telugu Desam Party on a platform of Telugu self-respect. The party stunned national politics by sweeping to power within nine months. He served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 1983, 1985, and 1994.
Legacy
NTR's legacy spans cinema, politics, and a redefinition of Telugu cultural identity. His sons and grandsons — including Balakrishna and Jr. NTR — continue the Nandamuri family's prominence in Telugu cinema.
