ప్రారంభం
1933 మార్చి 6న అస్సాంలోని లఖింపూర్లో జన్మించిన కృష్ణ కుమారి తొలి తెలుగు చిత్రం 'నవ్విథే నవరత్నాలు' (1952)తో అరంగేట్రం. K. S. ప్రకాష రావు, తాపీ ధర్మారావు వంటి దర్శకుల ద్వారా 50ల తెలుగు సినిమా మెయిన్స్ట్రీమ్లోకి.
పీక్ యుగం
'రేచుక్క-పగటి చుక్క' (1959), 'మాంగల్యబలం' (1959), 'వెలుగు నీడలు' (1961), 'శ్రీ కృష్ణార్జున యుద్ధం' (1963), 'భీష్మ' (1962) — ఈ చిత్రాలు ఆమెను 60ల తెలుగు సినిమాకు ముఖ్య హీరోయిన్గా నిలబెట్టాయి. NTR, ANR, శోభన్ బాబు తదితర అన్ని టాప్-హీరోలతో నటించారు.
తరువాత
1972లో సినిమాల నుండి విరమణ. 2018లో పుదుచ్చేరిలో మరణం. తెలుగు సినిమా క్లాసిక్ హీరోయిన్గా జ్ఞాపకాలు.

Origins
Born 6 March 1933 in Lakhimpur, Assam. Telugu debut with 'Navvithe Navaratnalu' (1952). Worked under K. S. Prakasa Rao, Tapi Dharma Rao, and the broader 1950s social/family-drama register.
Peak
'Rechukka-Pagatichukka' (1959), 'Mangalya Balam' (1959), 'Velugu Needalu' (1961), 'Sri Krishnarjuna Yuddham' (1963), and 'Bhishma' (1962) marked her as a top-tier Telugu heroine of the 60s. She paired with all the lead men of the era including NTR, ANR, and Sobhan Babu.
Later Years
Retired in 1972. Died in Puducherry in 2018, remembered as one of the canonical Telugu film heroines of the classical era.
