ప్రారంభం
1956 ఫిబ్రవరి 17న పశ్చిమ గోదావరి జిల్లాలో జన్మించిన రాజశేఖర్, బ్రాహ్మణ కుటుంబం. వైద్యశాస్త్రం MBBS చదువు; నటనపై ఆసక్తితో 1980లో 'అన్నదమ్ముల అను బంధం'తో సిన్మాలోకి. 1985లో 'ఆలాపన'తో హీరోగా ముద్ర.
మూడవ దశకం యుగం
'అన్వేషణ' (1985), 'మగాడు' (1987), 'శంఖరా జయరామ' (1987), 'అంకుశం' (1990), 'మాయా బజార్' (1995) — ఈ చిత్రాలు రాజశేఖర్ను సోషియల్ + యాక్షన్ హీరోగా ముద్ర వేశాయి. 'అంకుశం' వంటి విప్లవ చిత్రాలతో రాజకీయ-సోషియల్ సందేశానికి అంకితమైన హీరోగా గుర్తింపు. 90ల చివర - 2000ల్లో 'గౌతమి' భార్య సుహాసిని (గౌతమి)తో పాటు అనేక ఇంటిరి కుటుంబ-సమాజ చిత్రాల్లో నటించారు.
రెండవ యుగం
2018 'PSV గరుడ వేగా' — ఆధునిక యాక్షన్ హిట్తో పునరావిర్భావం. 2020ల్లో 'శేఖర్' (2022) వంటి సందేశ-ఆధారిత ప్రయత్నాలు. తెలుగు సినిమాలో సోషియల్ హీరో శైలికి ముఖ్యమైన పేరు.

Origins
Born 17 February 1956 in Kachuluru, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, in a Brahmin family. Trained in medicine (MBBS) before turning to acting in 1980 with 'Annadammula Anubandham'. His proper leading-man debut came with 'Aalapana' in 1985.
The Defining Decade
'Anveshana' (1985), 'Magaadu' (1987), 'Ankusam' (1990), and 'Maya Bazaar' (1995) cemented his identity as a Telugu social-action lead with a thread of unyielding moral conviction running through almost every protagonist. 'Ankusam' in particular became a touchstone of socially-engaged Telugu mass cinema. He frequently co-starred with his wife Jeevitha (a former actress) in family/social pictures through the late 1990s.
Second Wind
'PSV Garuda Vega' (2018) — a sleek modern action-thriller — re-introduced him to a new audience and re-opened his second-phase career. 'Shekhar' (2022) followed the same message-driven action template. He remains one of the most identifiable faces of Telugu social-message cinema, a register few of his peers maintained for as long.
