ప్రారంభం
1985 జూన్ 1న హైదరాబాదులో జన్మించిన నిఖిల్ సిద్ధార్థ, శేఖర్ కమ్ముల 'హ్యాపీ డేస్' (2007)లో రాజేష్ పాత్రతో గుర్తింపు పొందాడు. యూత్-ఆధారిత చిత్రాలతో 'స్వామి రా రా' (2013) వరకు అరుదైన హిట్లే — యూట్యూబ్ యుగపు ఇండీ హిట్లుగా గుర్తింపు.
'కార్తికేయ' బ్రేక్థ్రూ
2014లో చందు మొండేటి దర్శకత్వంలో 'కార్తికేయ' — తక్కువ బడ్జెట్ మిస్టరీ-థ్రిల్లర్; సంపూర్ణ స్పిరిచ్యువల్-సైన్స్ ట్రెజర్ హంట్ స్టోరీ. తెలుగు మిస్టరీ చిత్రాల్లో దీని విజయం నిఖిల్ను "థింకింగ్ హీరో"గా స్థిరం చేసింది. తదనంతరం 'శంకరాభరణం 2' (పేరు మార్చబడింది), 'శ్వేత మెహతా' (2016 — టైటిల్ సినిమా ఎక్ ముఠాయి), 'అర్జున్ సూరవరం' (2019).
'కార్తికేయ 2' + 18వ హ్యాట్రిక్
2022 'కార్తికేయ 2' — తొలి భాగానికి 8 సంవత్సరాల తర్వాత సీక్వెల్; అదనపు మైథలాజికల్ లేయర్ + పాన్-ఇండియా రిలీజ్తో ₹150+ కోట్ల కలెక్షన్. తెలుగు ఇండీ-మిస్టరీ సినిమా శైలికి కేంద్ర పేరుగా నిఖిల్ నిలబడ్డాడు. 2024 'స్పై' వంటి యాక్షన్-థ్రిల్లర్లు ఆయన పరిధిని విస్తరించాయి.

Origins
Born 1 June 1985 in Hyderabad. Spotted by Sekhar Kammula and cast in 'Happy Days' (2007), the cult youth-drama that gave many of his contemporaries their start. The next decade was a string of mid-tier youth and rom-com leads — 'Swamy Ra Ra' (2013) was the YouTube-era indie hit that signalled what would come next.
The Karthikeya Breakout
'Karthikeya' (2014), directed by Chandoo Mondeti — a low-budget mystery-thriller about a science-meets-spirituality treasure hunt — became a sleeper success and re-positioned Nikhil as a 'thinking man's' Telugu lead. The film opened up a niche of indie mystery-thrillers that had limited Telugu precedent. Followups included 'Shankarabharanam' (2015), 'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada' (2016), and 'Arjun Suravaram' (2019).
Karthikeya 2 and Beyond
'Karthikeya 2' (2022) — released eight years after the first — added a mythological layer (the Krishna-Dwaraka legend), got a pan-India release, and grossed over ₹150 crore. It cemented Nikhil's identity as the central face of Telugu indie-mystery cinema. 'Spy' (2024) and other recent action-thrillers have widened his range without straying from the thinking-action register that suits him.
